TOPIC: BPV Section VIII Div 1 – Minimum Diameter of Inspection Opening

Question 1: UG-46(d) permits inspection openings to be omitted on vessels 12 in. (300 mm) or less inside diameter if there are at least two removable pipe connections that are not less than NPS 3/4 (DN 20). Is it required by the rules of ASME Section VIII, Division 1 that these piping sections be removed from the vessel completely such as a threaded pipe section in a NPT opening?
